Kyocera Hydro Waterproof Android Smartphone

Galaxyneon - Kyocera announced at the CTIA Wireless 2012 its new Hydro C5170 waterproof Android smartphone. It is IPX5 certified for protection against sprayed water such as rain, and is also IPX7 certified for protection against immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes. The phone is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon MSM8655 processor with 512MB RAM and 2GB ROM. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Swype keyboard pre-loaded.
The mid-range Kyocera Hydro is a sports a 3.5-inch 480×320 IPS LCD touchscreen, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with LED flash and camcorder, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi connectivity with Mobile Hotspot functionality. It supports CDMA EV-DO Rev A and 1X Advanced mobile networks. The waterproof handset has a microSD slot for expansion, and is equipped with Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Digital Compass.
The Kyocera Hydro measures 4.53 x 2.44 x 0.50 inch and weighs 4.16oz. It will be released in Q2 2012.
